After that, things just seem to go downhill. She has no choice but to escape the kingdom of Zual, something that to her knowledge has never been done before. She will need to deal with many issues she never had to face before.
Among those issues, the white mages, and her conscience.

Ah, a heartwarming tale of a former dark sorcery using teenage woman who ends up rescuing a princess, promising never to use black magic again, and has to flee her home because of it.Honestly, this could have been a complete mess, but D.L. Harrison is a good enough writer to keep the tale moving, and the action reasonably fresh. The main character does end up a bit too powerful in some ways, but most of the conflict is political rather than open warfare and the intrigue is acceptable if not extremely well written.
I could see places where I think D.L. thought about taking the plot in a different direction, but in the end, it was a fairly good read. One of the better stories I've read in the past few days.

Fantastic and highly entertaining with a strong female protagonist.
I was drawn to this by the title and after reading the sample was impressed enough to purchase the book. It was much more thought provoking than I expected as the title,opening and general overview hinted at a rather young target audience. I found the author's style a good blend of humor, adventure and with a bit of character development (limited to the protagonist, as I found the supporting cast to be one dimensional stock stereotypes ).
I appreciated that treatment of "adult" themes being one of ok they are a part of reality but they do not have to be detailed.
The length was adequate and the conclusion while leaving the reader wondering about the future of our heroine was an good stopping point.
This was a very fun book to read. I really enjoyed that it was stand-alone. Not that I would mind more stories from this character or world, but I feel it would overreach quickly. To reiterate. VERY enjoyable book. Thank You D L Harrison!

A bit idealistic or maybe just not fully developed in the motivation department, but a good addition to the relatively rare slapstick humor fantasy genre.
I like how a lot of the fighting is described after the fact or at a distance a really good read
