I picked up the entire series and have really enjoyed them. My Wolf King, Alexander is an exciting Alpha who finds his mate Carol Anne when he is out running in wolf form. A Panther Shifter is breaking into her cabin with the intent of killing her after having some "Fun". Alexander smells cinnamon and apples and wonder of wonders - something else...he has just found his mate.

This is well written with drama, humor and of course romance. A good read for someone who enjoys the paranormal/werewolf/shapeshifter genre. This was not my normal style of reading material until I got hooked on the Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels Series. After reading those I started looking for books that sounded just as good. This story ranks up there with Kate Daniels and can't wait to finish book 2, My Wolf Protector.

The girl just feels sorry for herself. I have to say I didn't understand how one min she believes in the supernatural and then the next time she runs because her mind cant take what's happen. she keeps saying to herself that she cant trust in the hero ,but she is ok with some guy that comes in her house dressed all in black to help her and the hero out when the mating heat gets to hot. I mean if you are going to go that way cool im down but then you really have to follow thru with something she has to trust him or something has to be said about it. I liked the necklace thing but by the time I stopped reading she should have already told him about it or had it on maybe it would have made her smarter. I don't know just got really bored with all of her self hate.
Let me say first that in order to like this book you have to like books about shifters. If this is going to be your first read into this genre you might not like it. But happily for me; I love stories about them. This book was not a disappointment. The hero, Alexander was everything a hero should be. He was confident and very comfortable in his wolf form. He found his mate when he came upon Carole Anne. As a heroine, she was very unsure of herself; coming out of a very bad breakup. Her Ex left her believing she would never be able to attract anyone. She felt unattractive and very unsure of herself. She believed she would only find romance by reading about it in her romance novels.
But Alexander wants her and she struggles with that; just believing that his feelings are only a "passing fancy" and he will tire of her. Carole Anne resists everything that Alexander does to try and convince her she is beautiful and very desirable. Will she feel it; feel the pull between them???
There are parts of the book where even Alexander worries if there can be a HEA with Carole Anne. But does he succeed?!?!?
You will have to read it to find out.
It is a very enjoyable read. It's not a deep and meaningful book that will leave you breathless; but as a light read; it hits the mark.

Carole Anne Boswick is left an isolated cabin by her great-uncle. She moves there after finding her husband of 10 years engaged in acts with his secretary that he never bothered with during the course of their marriage. She's devastated, but divorces him. Then a strange thing tries to break into her cabin, looking for something she has no idea about.

Alexander Petrov is the wolf community's King. He's been hearing tales about Panther shifters attacking humans & he needs to stop it to keep the community safe from discovery. He comes upon a partially shifted Panther trying to break into Carole Anne's cabin & discovers that Carole Anne is his mate.

I usually love shifter books & I really wanted to love this one, but I had a really difficult time connecting with the MCs. Carole Anne is hung up on her "plain" looks, her weight, & keeps referring to herself as "over the hill" and "washed up" when she's only 31. Way too young to be considered over the hill, IMHO. Alexander is cocky, used to getting any woman he wants, refuses to consider how being his mate would change Carole Anne's life.

I really objected to the part with Summer at the spa. Earlier in the story, it was established that the wolves are highly sexual and they often have encounters while searching for their mates before they settle down to monogamy. Then Alexander is degrading Summer for her sexual encounters, calling her a slut, instead of focusing on the real issue of how she's disrespecting him and his Queen.

I found the sex scenes kind of boring & repetitive.

There were a lot of editing & grammar issues which further pulled me out of the story.

However, I did like the world building and wouldn't mind finding out what happens with Marrock & Connor.

This book was a great read. This is the first book in the Wolf Town Guardian series, but it can easily be a stand-alone read. All the books in the series follow a similar formula. They all keep a good pace. The characters are well developed and very entertaining. There is romance, plenty of action, mystery, drama and intrigue. In all the books, a Wolf-shifter Guardian finds his mate. The mates are all women with troubled backgrounds, low self esteem and have issues with being fuller figured. But through it all the mated couple find happiness and live happily ever after. I just wish that the language used during the “love scenes” was a little more romantic and loving, instead it feels to me like the dialog is straight out of a porn movie. I loved the steamy imagery, but the dialog made me cringe every time in all 4 of the books. In this book the story follows Alexander and his mate Carole Anne. This book has it all and is a fantastic, enjoyable book to read. I enjoyed this series immensely and I will be looking out for more of this author’s work.
